Yeah, corny I know. Has anyone encountered issues with the front door windows whistling at highway speed? I recently did a 1200 mile road trip in my 91 wagon and the whistling nearly drove me crazy. HELP

Is this wind noise or whistling?

The triangular window piece tends to be the culprit for wind noise and may be the cause of your whistling.

if you want a quick fix, one could safely assume some ~.125" thick by ~.250" wide weather stripping might do the trick around the triangular window piece. Idk, something along those lines, or maybe even some thin foam tape could help? just all depends how good you want it to look i guess lol thats all i got!

Previous owner of my car put bungee cord in the seal where it peels open. Seems to work decentish

I just roll the window down and he-man bend the metal frame in the triangle closed a bit. Works fine if the seal isn't worn out. The triangles get wallowed out because people close the doors by the window. Don't do that on frameless doors, it always causes a bad time.

I put just a tad of butyl under the seal on the body, not the door. I've also hit the seal with some silicone spray(heresy in my line of work) works for a little bit, kinda like viagra for rubber seals, makes them "bigger"

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I tried the bending the triangle piece inward about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch and the sucker is as tight as a new one now. I love cheap easy fixes like that. I would love to contribute to someone putting together a list of zero cost fixes and mods. I am sure that would be a popular thread with some of the young guys with lots more enthusiasm than money. (yeah I know, that would be me too at 64 years old ha ha). I love this forum you guys have saved me much trouble along the way to fixing up my old wreck.

This! Of course forums in general would be less meaningful if all that kind of info was THAT easy to find. I'm new to roo's and would probably still be lurking if that was the case

They're referencing the front side of the door where the mirror bolts into. The bend the metal plate the inside plastic trim peace pops onto. There is a seal behind that plastic piece that usually causes all the wind noise.

You're welcome! I've had to do the fix myself. Then unconsciously I closed the door with my arm pushing against the window... dammit! haha!
