It's nice to have something so rare. I couldn't imagine having to drive something so common, like a Bugatti Royale (7 counting the Esders recreation), and seeing myself all the time.

Why not post up vins for the turbos. It would be cool to see who has the lowest number, consecutive number arrangements, where different numbers ie cars wound up around the country. For instance, livestrongs vin ends in 600466, our other SS (the Clone) ends in 600449...probably made on the same day (JF starting vin)
The RIO is 601257 All 3 are 91's
The darling (92) is 607805
Are these vins assigned sequentially to all legacies?
Sequentially to all sedans...of course the vin in sequence will show the engine and tranny code.
Lets see how they flow.
Someone smarter than me could come up with a spreadsheet or something that we could fill in the blanks. I think it would be fun!!

My '91 SS VIN ends in 606916... Not even close to any of the VINs you posted. lol

I believe it was automatic from the factory.

lol...

I have a wrecked 93SS Factory 5spd...

And a 92SS Factory 5spd...

Both in white...

Between me and people I know in person we have like 50% of the Turbo population
jk

the funny thing is that the guy who posted my first car (white 93ss 5spd) actually put these numbers in it to try and sell it as something "Oh so rare"

But yea, there are too many turbos on here to be true and I see them from time to time on craigslilst.

a-ha!

Yours was 5spd from the factory.

Keep in mind I'm getting old and codgy (I turn 24 in two weeks), but I say... who gives a rat's ass how many of these were produced.

It doesn't matter how rare they are, because they're never going to be sought-after collector cars.

In 50 years, the WRX/STi probably will be, like the American muscle cars are now. They'll be sought after by the geezer versions of today's douchebags.

But gas engines will probably be illegal by then... if there's any gas left.

I think just to disprove this information we should come up with a list of all the forum members and which car year and whether it's turbo or L or GT or LS.

How's that sound?

I think I got into an arguement with a guy on NASIOC about the production numbers when he posted those super low production numbers over there and I told him he was mistaken since I own a 91 ss and I've seen tons on here and I've seen tons for sale over the last couple years on craigslist.

I emailed Subaru of Canada and got this response:
To answer your question, Subaru Canada, Inc. sold 4,073 Legacys in 1992. 627 of those vehicles were RT packages, which is what your model is.
So Subaru in Canada sold 627 Turbo Legacys in 1992..no way SOA's number of 11 is correct.

SOA must've sold way more then 627.
