Very nice, and I wish I had a tune. I only made 216hp and 235tq on Cobbs dyno with almost the same setup, minus the engine management. I think the vf39 is a great all around turbo.

kinda random, but I thought you weren't supposed to use a LW pulley and LW flywheel together?

It's worked for DLC and me for a number of years now... No codes, just awesomeness.

You're thinking underdriven pulleys and lw flywheels.

SUBA Performance is a good shop for repairs and especially performance upgrades....Troy used to own a TLeg himself, so he is pretty familiar with the older setup. The have pretty good prices as well.

The Boost Creep Ltd is up in Longmont off the I-25 and highway 66 exit...Harvey is a good guy and a great tuner...this is the only place I will tune my car ever.

As for the lightweight pulley with flywheel combo, I've ru this setup on my 98GT for 7 years with no problems.

I only put it on my TLeg because I got the flywheel for free and I'm in the middle of building a new motor anyway. If anything goes wrong, it's a good test for the new setup.

I think tuning in general is pricey....most places are $150-$175/hr and you'll spend 2-3 hours including on and off the dyno.

Tuning is one thing you don't want to half-ass....a bad tune will blow shit up

When I was down in Colo Spgs they quoted $175/hour for tuning on the dyno.

Nice work man!!

I had a boostcreep dyno a month or so ago on my '93 (VF12, CES TBE, AWIC) and I put down 195whp/236wtq on his dyno (12psi spike, down to 10.5psi from 5000-redline). Holding 180whp at redline - yes!

Since then I installed Crucial P&P headers with cross-pipe, and some delta 220 cams. I'll be going back for another few pulls with Harvey soon.
Then I'll be tuning with the revtronics tunable chip (and 550's) when it comes out - I hope to be putting down what you did after that round. 240/270 is sweeet (more than a stock STi will throw down on that dyno)

Do you have any baseline #'s (or pre-tune #'s)??

-Chad

(maybe I've seen you around? do you live in the Boulder area? My '93 is Winestone with either bronze wrx or graphite RS 6-spoke wheels - depending on the season)

The only other numbers I have are form SuperRupair when Harvey tuned my SS with a td04 and the 550's. Those numbers were 240tq/180hp.

My car puts down almost exact numbers like my friends Stage2 SpecB on the same dyno. Not bad for the original motor.

BTW, I live in Denver, near downtown.

I was searching for some comparisons of TD04/VF39 on a stock longblock and found this old thread. It's so cool to see actual plots. Thanks dude!
