New guy in Maine with a legacy turbo

Post by matt00rs25 »

Hey guys. Well I'm the new guy. Just brought home a 93 legacy turbo manual with 117k miles. Traded in at the dealership I work at for 500 bucks. I brought it home for 800. Has a little rust on the quarters and rockers but overall is solid. Look forward to building it up and def look forward to the boost. My rs is a fun car but lacks the power. Here's a few pics.

Nice score. That RS looks really clean. Can't wait to see how the legacy turns out.

Hey Mikey.

Thanks, that's been a hell if a project since I bought it. Some kid went all fast and furious on it and riced it out. I'm happy to have saved it.

As far as the legacy goes my first step is fix a few oil leaks and general tune up and let Mikey influence me to buy go fast parts.

Sure is a pretty rs. I like how clean it is. That's my style. No badges. Good job. Hopefully the ss receives the same treatment. Welcome to the bbs.

Check out mainelysubarus. We do group drives twice a year usually on the Kanc.
So at like 5k rpm the car acts like it just shuts off. Total loss of power until you let off and go again. Is this like boost cut or something?

Welcome to the BBS.

Yes, if you have a total loss of power, that's probably fuel cut. I'd suggest checking the ECU for codes. Instructions are on my site, www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/engine.html

Is everything stock or are there any aftermarket items on there, such as a manual boost controller? A boost gauge would be a good first mod so you know what's going on and what boost you're running.
