$450 for a parts car?

Post by SomeOldHobo »

So my co-worker wants to sell me is 94 legacy turbo for $450. its got over 300K and a blown front end including hubs, cv joints, and diff. He says everything else is in good shape. It would be good to have for spare parts if I every need them (I have a 94 ss aswell). this would also allow me to do an auto to stick conversion pretty easily aswell since mine is auto. What to you guys think?

Thanks.

Being that its over 300k, I'd definitely give it a through once over, maybe even twice over. But other than that I would jump at the opportunity for a 450 dollar complete parts car. Also remember the front diff is inside the transmission so if you do the conversion, you're going yo have to split the case to get at it for repairs or replacement.

HI,
Please add your location - assuming you're not in the Rust Belt, then Yes - OK deal. Rusty cars suck to work on ...even if just removing parts.

I'd say yes if there is enough to salvage, or you want the chassis. The engine alone is practically worth it. If the front diff has gone back I would be highly suspicious of the entire transmission just based on bearing contamination.
