UPDATE: 1/2/2020
I am in the process of upgrading my server and in doing so have discovered some issues with filenames that contain symbol ampersand "&". So I have had to rename anything with an ampersand in it to and. So if you happen to get a server error while trying to access anything, please replace the '&' with the word 'and' (remove quote marks). I will try and review the server logs and update links that refer to the old files. I tried to setup an automatic redirection, but wasn't able to do that.
Thanks for everyone's understanding
Well....I wouldn't want you guys to think I don't like you and not get you a Christmas present.....so I'm going to inundate you with info.
Larry posted a link over on the BC-BF List for these parts & service manuals. This guy apparently scanned them in because he used an EJ22 motor in his airplane. Well the scans were a little hard to navigate....so being me, I added bookmarks to the pdfs so you have a nice index structure to see what's all in the pdf. The FSM & Parts manuals only include the engine/electrical pages, but contain most of the important stuff.
Please right click and save the pdf's. Thanks!
Note: I've updated all the files so the bookmark index shows up automatically. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, and can d/l again, you'll see what I mean.

Like I said, there's A LOT of info in these pdf's. The service bulletins have a lot of good info too.
Enjoy
NOTE: Please do not use file downloader programs to leach all the files from my server. It causes excessive traffic and slows connection speeds for everyone, including me. I reserve the right to terminate and/or ban IP addresses if I see excessive repeated connections.
Thanks for understanding.

Subaru service manual

I have 1994 RHD Subaru Legacy L station wagon!
I checked out the service manual and it did not have the section that I was hoping to find. Would it be too much trouble for you if I ask you to scan a few pages in how to replace the transmission filter along with the detailed diagram of what each components are inside the transmission fluid pan? That would be greatly appreciated!
I have dropped the pan in an attempt to replace the transmission filter and the gasket. I removed all of the filter bolts inside, but it did not seem to have enough clearance to remove the filter due to a metal tubing right below the filter. If I know for sure what this metal tubing is for and if I can apply enough force to get the filter out, I will try to do it, but I hate to cause any damage to the metal tube.
My question is whether there is a peculiar way of extracting the transmission filter? If so, how is it to be done?
I really want to replace the filter, but if it is not meant to be replaced, I just might have to install a new gasket and put'em all back together!
Thanks for your time!

The screen in the trans is really not a filter....it's just a screen. When i took mine out...you had to remove the crossbar....and just need to give it a little force.
If you want....you'd be better off replacing the add-on filter kit near the battery.
Part # for the kit is in the part # thread.

Thanks for the info!
Do most Japanese cars have this kind of crossbar nearby the filter, or is this something special to Subaru?
At any rate, since I wasn't sure of what this crossbar was for and I could not take the filter out, I decided not to mess it further and put'em all back to gether with a new gasket yesterday morning.
I will look into the add-on filter kit and it seems to be a much better option!
Thanks!
John

Not sure whether all japanese cars have this crossbar or not. It may be particular to the 4EAT tranny, which is used in other cars as well.

Hey Josh,
great site mate! Very cool with lots of interesting goodies!!
Just wondering if you have or can get a Service Manual for a 94 Model JDM GT Legacy Wagon, its a BG5A? I have looked absoulutly everwhere!

by Legacy777
Sorry, but no I don't have any JDM manual stuff.
I would think most of the stuff would be similar to the US 95 legacies, minus the motor & some of the wiring.
You could maybe try to find someone in japan.
Thanks for the great stuff
