One Decade

I started Legacy Central in 1999, and the first post that I have stored was from February 5, 1999. I'd just purchased my 1990 Legacy L+ sedan, after long lusting after the "new" Subaru models.

It seemed like forever before I started the BBS, but it's been up and running for a very long time now.

How time has changed since 1999.

Here's to another decade of Legacy Central, and beyond. Thanks for being part of the community.

Wow! Has it been that long. We've come a long way from 1999. Thanks to everyone for making the community what it is. The BC/BF group is definitely a close-nit group.

All I can say is thanks for a wonderful community, I certainly can't imagine Legacy ownership without the BBS.

Another thanks from a loyal member. Were it not for this community, and a certain member, I'd still be in the dark about our wonderful cars.

Thanks for all the info guys. I don't think I'd have such a great experience with my first car if it weren't for this community.

Yes, we are indeed, but the older we get, the uglier the Legacy models seem to trend now.

Yes....unfortunately you're right. I want to like the new models, and while the 2015 looks a little better than the previous I still can't say I'm a huge fan. The Impreza's look a little better than the Legacies, but I would love to see a good looking and good driving Legacy again.

As all of us on the forum knows-the first gen leggys are simply the finest :smt055 I just would like see Subaru put some badging on the '15 to acknowledge the 25th anniversary of the Legacy!

The targeted market for the current Legacy would not care less about what it was 25 years ago. And us fans of the 90s models are completely uninterested in the new model. I feel like taking away the wagon, especially when its still offered globally, is an especially hard kick in the shins.

I just want to say thanks for all of you guys and your dedication. If not for the knowledge base of this forum, and might I say some open minded gearheadedness on my part, I would not own a 1st Gen Turbo Legacy today, and I enjoy driving her more and more every day as I improve her and add mods. I have always loved cars, but I have not always been able to live my passion. In 2012 that passion was rekindled when I picked up my 2012 Legacy GT. It had everything that I was looking for but couldn't find in any other car, so I bought her brand new. And a few weeks ago, I picked up my '92 SS.

I hope some of these pics of my 2012 show you guys that the bland Legacy that Subaru designed can be made so much better with tasteful mods. She has been lowered 1.3" on H&R's and I installed Koni Yellow adjustable shocks. Added some 9" wheels with some meaty tires, and a whole slew of other bits here and there, some aesthetic, some performance, and some just plain old awesome. She is a completely different car in the handling department since the suspension upgrades, and can hang with cars 2x her price on the track. Enjoy, or flame away, I love both the old and new equally for what they are.
