emoticons

Any chance we can enlarge the emoticon choices? Sounds petty, but I would LOVE more options and colors.

From the technical side of things, it's rather easy. Either admin would just have to dl a smileypack and upload it into the associated folder on the server and have the ACP setup the pack and that's that.

You could put that folder on Hardy's web server, if he's willing.

I could upload them to my own(art's) server too. Is an admin willing to install said pack?

Dave's got to do it....I don't have access to the server.

Personally, I could care less either way.

If you guys want to link from another site, fine. More emoticons is not, i'm sorry to break this to you, crucial to the operation of the board and dissemination of information.

Have fun!

do the emoticons on the site take up that much valuable bandwidth?

Just curious as to why we cannot have said emoticons on the site

Dancing bananas and monkeys do not add to the usefulness of the BBS. I don't see any good reason to add them. I'll gladly entertain any arguments for them beyond the trivial ones I already know of.

They're fun, and this site HAS become a community, not just a means to share information. Also, it's tough enough to convey emotion over the internet, having any kind of DECENT smiley set(even a basic 12-smiley layout like we currently have, but the more conventional smileys) would help in that quite a bit

I'm feeling generous today :D

I've added a hundred or so new emoticons, so for those dialup users out there, sorry. If you can't express yourself with these, you need help!

speaking of smileys...

can we get the old ones back? I'm not liking the minesweeper style smileys as the default...
