I've got a phase II EJ25 that I took out of my running 2000 Legacy to do a USDM STi swap. It has 106K miles and was running quiet and strong with no smoke, water or oil consumption when pulled. It is complete except for the clutch/flywheel that I am saving for a MT swap. If I keep the alternator, P/S pump, and A/C compressor I want $900 plus whatever it costs me to ship it. Or I could haul it to Albuquerque if you know someone passing through.
Matt is right, I wanted to put it in my '97 Outback but the differences in the emissions and wiring from the SOHC (phase II) and earlier DOHC engines make it more of a hassle than it is worth.
If interested let me know.
