Need A New IACV

Post by YetiSmasher »

Anybody on here have an extra idle air control valve that they would sell to me for a reasonable price?

for my EJ22T touring wagon

I don't have one but you can take an NA IACV and swap it over to your housing and it will work.

I was under the impression that turbo iac were different from n.a
Because the tube runs to the top on the turbo models and on the n.a models they protrude out the side?

Yes, the turbo goes upward but the guts from an NA are the same. So you can take the internals out of the NA IACV and put it in your turbo IACV housing if you still have it. It's just an option if you can't find a turbo one.

ill keep that as an option, I'd rather not have to take anything apart though.

all you need to swap is the upper electronic control unit.
I have repaired a few with just a good cleaning and switching the electronic top. Just mark the position of the unit before removing the screws or take a good clear picture.
Pro tip: for removal of the philips screws place a #2 bit in the screw and hammer it in good. Then use a small 1/4" ratchet and 1/4" bit to remove it. Repeat for both screws
