Do you know if 93's work? There are a couple 1993's where I'm going tomorrow. Pick n pull charges about $60 out the door.

The interchange software at pick n pull said the 93 was not a match for 92. This means they are not identical. It does not necessarily mean they are not interchangeable. Hopefully someone with more info in swapping ecus can chime in.

I ordered one from lowmileagepArts.com should be pretty identical. Now my problem is getting to it . The Haynes ma I shows a steel plate to unscrew underneath the dash passenger side , underneath the carpet, but mine has a rubber lining instead of a steel plate that I'm having a hard time removing

Your haynes is showing instructions for a 95+ Legacy. For the 90-94s, it's on the driver side, under the dash and to the left of the steering column.

I'll see about finding a picture, but you have to remove the lower plastic panel of the dash. The ecu itself is above where your left leg goes. Two 10mm nuts hold it in place, and it's a royal biotch to remove if it's never been done.

Yeah, remove the panel and get underneath the dash, probably have your head close to the pedals and as your laying on the floor board looking up you'll see the ecu. It has 4 yellow plugs. As you're looking up it will be on the right hand side of the steering column.
