I picked up a set of these from Cobb and finally installed them a few weeks ago, after using the stock WRX/Outback pads that came with them two years ago.
$85, about the same price as some Hawk HPS.
The 02 and 03-04 WRX use different pads, so make sure you know what you have.
Install was a cinch, took maybe 20 minutes because i rotated the tires as well. Compressing the pistons was simple, with some elbow grease and a screwdriver.
I bedded them by making some slow to fast stops.
They bite very nicely, and i don't think i've had to get into them hard yet, but they progress very nicely into that "whoa" territory.

let me know how they hold up when you really get into them. i too have stock wrx pads up front and need something that will handle lapping the beaver a couple of times. www.beaverun.com for those with dirty minds.

Yeah, and 110+ on the back straight leading up to for-all-intents-and-purposes a hair pin. Braking really deep is how I catch up to the much faster cars, but I don't know if the stocker WRX pads will do that all day. Same speed scrubbing is necessary for entering turn number 1 after the front straight.

One thing i noticed when i got about 18 months or so on the stock pads is that they required more and more effort to stop. I was told on inspection that they were getting close to being worn, but when i went to replace them, they weren't that bad.
The Cobb pads, on the other hand, have the same grip as the stockers at half the effort, and it just gets progressively better from there.

I love lapping beaver. I take it slow so I never have to use the brakes.
