I put a VF8 Turbo on a few weeks ago...
It totally woke the car up...pulls as hard on 12 psi as it did on 17 psi with the Inbred Turbo...
I only payed $115 for it, and it is a JDM take-off so it has ~40,000 miles on it, so it is basically brand new!
Anyway, the bottom line is, I would say that a VF8 is a very worthwhile and cost effective investment if you are looking to upgrade your turbo.

I agree, its a good turbo. I get full boost by 3k rpms. Maybe a little sooner, but definately no later. If it is true that the TD05 is the same, then I'd probalby go with the TD05 if I was given a choice. Why not get better bang for the same lag. I don't think the VF8 will pull as hard as the TD05, but it pulls plenty hard. It definately woke the car up. Going up hill to work and in fifth gear on the freeway, a good step on the go pedal and it lurches forward. It doesn't feel as conflicted as the vf11 was.
I'm also running the CES DP, crosspipe, and uppipe, so my flow is increased from that of the stock exhaust parts.
