Nick,

Where did you get your skidplate? Does Lachute make them for Legacies? All I saw on their site was skidplates for 2002+ Impreza

By the way, awesome pics!

Mine for the rally car was done by me (and the welding shop on my street). 1/4 alu.
But ya, Lachute subaru as big one and small one for the "old" chassy...
I guess if they fit GC8 Impreza, they should fit BC-BF Legacy...

Are you looking for a skid plate for rallying or just your street car???

Give Julien a call at 1-877-568-3121 (lachute soob).

Skid plate

Post by rallysam »

Thanks! I will give them a call.

I want the skid plate for Rallycross. From bottoming out, my exhaust manifold looks like a 5-year-old took a hammer to it.... and then used a power grinder, too. I don't want to put a hole in the oil pan, next!
I guess if they fit GC8 Impreza, they should fit BC-BF Legacy...
REALLY? All the bolt holes line up????

I have a 3/8" or so aluminum skidplate and rear diff cover on my '02 Impreza (GDA-style). I'm assuming the rear diff box will be a direct bolt-on. I'm hoping that I'll be able to drill holes in the plate and get it to fit.

I got mine at www.rumblesoftracing.com . They sell the GC8 plates too, and they should bolt right up. A lot of us New Englanders have this guy's stuff and we're all very happ-y after seeing the kind of damage these things take :D . I'm getting more and more into rallycross. Now that I have the Legacy I can keep the damage off the Impreza. Even though this rocket only set me back 2850, I still want to protect it as best I can.
IggDawg is cool.

I have not sold it yet. I have 2 people serious about it though. I am holding them off till my motor is looked at. We pulled the motor Jan 11th, same day as the CARS AGM.
I have sources for all the EJ20 parts. Easy to get when you know where to look! I just ended up emailing all kinds of dealers. Oh.. Putting a new clutch in for good measure.

Ya! I watched Wild west last year, and Hillsburo rally x I got to go in I think Paul Eklunds, 4 door impreza? It was yellow, Paul wasn't the driver I don't think... I didn't know many people at that time. But ya I am still working on the interior, and now I am getting a little sidetracked with a go kart. But I think I will have a roll cage started by 2 weeks! I just have to buy a welder, and I have the money for that. Does anyone know the 2003 club rally rules for roll cages? Cause I guess I will just have to build it to FIA regulations, but then I don't know those either... I do have a general idea, but i don't know what size tube I have to buy. This is whats really taking me so long! Is cause I don't have the rules. I know everything else I need besides the cage rules. So if anyone could help me out, that would be great! And if u guys would like to check out photos of a volvo, not the rally on but... Close. ( MonkeyTeamCars.cjb.net ) thats my site.

Thanks for that, I didn't really understand that... I wish it was in words, I can't really understand photos well ;o( Why are there soo many diff. pics of diff ways? Are they all the different ways I can make my cage? I printed out all 9 pages of it... It can't be as difficult as it looks! Why can't they make these rules a little easier to understand? I guess I am going to have to have someone show me what the heck there trying to tell me...
But thanks for the site. About the Medical release form... What are they looking for in that? Heart problems? I don't like doctors stickin there fingers up my butt. lol I hope I don't have to have that done, and that whole turn left and cough thing...
Ok well sorry if I just grossed people out.

Read from page 15 in the part B of the rules and regs...
http://www.carsrally.ca/2002/documents/ ... lebook.pdf

As for medical stuff... They don't want blind people or epileptic
to rally...

Cute little roll bar pic.

Post by SuperRallyRoo »

Ok I was looking at the mini roll cage photo they got there on the page 15... I thought u also have to have a bar going across on the far back part, where the rear window is. Is that true? And also there is some new thing where I have to two small cross bars, going from the top front part of the cage to where the front side bars go down. Ok that might have not made sense. I don't know what they call all the specifics of the cage. Anyway, It doesn't look that hard to make! I was wondering, I don't have a tube bender, so could I make the cage with no bends? It would still be really close to the front window. Is that what there worried about? Cause my car is an old volvo, which is very very boxy! SO I figured they might allow me to have a box cage. Worse come to worse, I know a few people who have a tube bender.
