Anyone interested in a Snow Rallycross?

Post by jpimm2002 »

Autosports Northwest out of Spokane puts on rallycrosses on a snow covered airport. I went to one of the events last year and it was a blast.

There's a thread over on carfreeks about this:
http://www.carfreeks.net/showthread.php?t=4091
There are some video links from the event we went to last year.

Here's the link to the rallycross section of their forum:

We're trying to get a group together to head up to their next event. Anyone interested?

oops, didn't realize carfreaks requires you to log-in now. Here's a link to the thread on TSDNW:
http://www.tsdnw.com/viewtopic.php?t=386

There are some potential dates posted but they don't usually decide till 2 weeks before the event (sometimes less) because they need to know for sure there will be snow.

That's not an excuse. I'm taking my Miata.

Besides whatever you have is probably still better than my uncles 97 legacy wagon on Yokohama ES100's.

It's put on by Autosports Northwest. The link to their forum is in my first post. There is also current discussion about it on Carfreeks and TSDNW for those around Portland/Vancouver. They don't really have hard set dates because of the unpredictability of the snow. They try to let people know definite dates a couple weeks in advance. If the snow melts they will cancel the event but they try to give everyone a couple days notice of cancellation. At least enough so you don't drive all the way there before finding out the snow melted. All the info about potential dates and cancellations are on the ASNW forum (the link is in my first post).

It looks like the 12th and 13th are a go. There is currently lots of snow and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere.

Cool I hope I can make it. If mount Spokane does night skiing that would be fun too.
