Actually 100% stock + FMIC & boost-up = 14's too based on what smh0101 posted above.

Weighed the car at a scrap yard a few days back & it tipped the scales @ 3340lbs with me aboard & almost no gas in the tank (1/8th of a tank).

Alky is still not working properly but I may just run the car alky-less to see what it does on the TD04 so I can move forward with the header & TD05 install.

My guess without alky is low to mid 14's @ about 14psi on the TDO4

Oh and just a side note, the rear seats, spare, and passenger seat were pulled out.

My car is a 4EAT Sedan.

I was actually thinking 3350+lbs for my car (with me in it) so 3340lbs was better than I thought.

These cars are heavy!

A diet that would drop about 100lbs without removing the seats & still looking 100% stock would be -
modding bumper beams (I'm thinking of having chromoly tube bumper beams made (I'd say 3-4lbs for each C/M beam vs 20lbs+ for each stock beam - net loss of about 32lbs))
removing undercoating under the carpet (I got 22lbs of this stuff out of my OBS-T as measured on my garage scale)
removing the spare / jack (about 35lbs)
all the junk in the trunk - cargo tray, carpet....(10lbs).

Door beams & other stuff could also be removed but would be dangerous if you get hit / hit something.

that and you could always make it a convertible

i took most of the stuff out of the back except the spare tire.
it's kinda hard to take stuff out b/c what if you DO and up needing it?
and i dont think that whatever you take out...unless it's alot.. will make that much of a difference in power or MPG.

Finally ran the car today @ 14PSI with NO alky-inj.

Time was

60' 2.415
330' 6.290
1/8 9.486
MPH 76.28
1000 12.258
1/4 14.594
MPH 96.41

Note the super slow 60' - I did not brake torque the car to build boost, I just walked it off the line (did not want to break something 60 miles from home...).

My G-tech was in the car for that pass & actually gave me a time that was 1/10th slower than ETRP's official time.

My best 1/8th mile on the G-tech so far was 8.877 - on alky & 18/16psi taper on the tiny TDO4.

Thanks, I think it would have done much better with alky but the times were not too bad either.

I've been itching to do the turbo upgrade, but am holding back some to test everything as it goes on the car so the mods will come as follows:

1 - I'm going to play with the alky (when I finally can again)
2 - Perrin pulley (its easy)
3 - I'm putting the EL-header on with the TDO4 (the turbo bolts are rusted on & are sort of eaten away so they will not come off without a cutting wheel) to see if there is a gain with a known baseline & to get removable bolts to hold the turbo to the up-pipe
4 - Then TD05-16G will go on & alky will have to get re-tuned

I just did the MPG calculations - the car went 122 miles to / from the track (40%city & 60%H/W driving to get to the track) made 2 passes (1@14psi + 1@13.5ish psi) on 4.9 gallons of gas.

Giving me 24.89 MPG which beats the hell out of the usual 3 MPG I get in straight city driving.

I'm lazy so I'm considering installing the TD05+Headers @ the same time instead of staging the header & TD05 install.

I'm going to try to install the headers (? which turbo (Tiny TD04 or Small TD05) will go on) in the next couple of weeks.

+1 It is about the same size (slightly smaller & older design).

Not sure about the VF11, but the TD04 can hold a steady 14+ psi (I've see it hold 15.5-16psi myself) on a EJ20G & I believe thehookup is running 15psi steady on a ej22t/dohc/td04 combo.

Don't let anyone lie to you - Size does matter....

That said the I found the TD04 to be a surprising little turbo.

Yeah. Before mine crapped out, I would run a steady 15 PSI with it all the way to redline. It wouldn't taper down at all.

No. My TD04 crapped out (so I had to go back to the VF11 :( ), but before it did it would hold full boost all the way to redline. The VF11 would taper off to about 11 PSI.

That Garrett is nice, inlet looks like its 3" what is it?

I have to take a pic of the TD04 next to a GT45 (4" comp inlet, 3" comp outlet, 4" V-band Exhaust).

I think the biggest turbo I've seen used by one of my friends was the old Turbonetics t1000 (? Y2K thumper, something or other - I'm getting old).
This turbo had an inlet my face could fit in.
It was used on a 3-rotor FD RX7 full tube frame car & made about 1350-1380WHP back in 2000

We use 18-wheeler turbos on Rotary engines all the time - The bigger the better!
