Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a better deal than $300 for KYB
Gr-2 struts of a full set for a '91 Legacy sedan 4wd turbo through
tirerack.com? Thanks,
Andrew

While searching for miscellaneous parts for my Legacy, I found this
site. It looks like a local salvage yard, but they have a new parts
catalog on their site. Here, they have the Gr-2 struts listed at
$66.82 a piece. Check them out here www.cherry-auto.com.

Adam,

What do you mean by DEEP dealer......

I've got the GR2's now.....have been happy with them. I will hopefully be getting some whiteline springs in the near future. I have been told the legacy people have had no problems with this setup...GR2's & whiteline springs. But I'm wonderin about the stiffness of the springs....in the event the springs are too stiff for the GR2's to damp them......I will need something else.....just a little more fine tuning....which would probably lead me to the AGX's.

Let me know what you find out about pricing.

The current GR2's have some mileage on them......front's have probably around 60,000 or so....rears have about 55,000 on them. I'm sure they are still good, but if I'm doin the springs.....I don't want to go back in a few weeks and re-do everything because I'm getting the bouncy's because of not having enough damping.

We can do the Legacy GR2 (they do not list an AGX) for $275 plus shipping

So they don't have an AGX listing for a 90 legacy FWD?

Hmm....wonder if they discontinued them.....cause I thought they did have them.....what about the AWD?

I didn't check the FWD, just the AWD turbos (like I have)

I have an FWD and all I could find were the GR-2's. When I went
through SPO, they informed that it was all I could get. Same goes
for springs - all we can do is use whiteline

What model is your car??2wd or 4wd?
I would recommend the KYB AGX adjustable shock.
Here is the parts # for the GR-2 Shocks:
Front: 235065 price around $100US
Rear: 235069 price around $110US

AGX:
Front:L/734007
R/734006
Rear:L/733011
R/733010

it's a '91 legacy 4WD... which brings me to another question. car seems rather sluggish lately and while i was coming up a hill tonight i stomped on the gas. it was moving at a moderate speed, then it seemed to jump gears and the tires in the front started to spin so i had to let off the gas. is the 4wd going or is there a simple fix to this?

when i bought the car it ran great. almost as good as my girlfriend's 2000 impreza RS. however after driving her car today i realized just how bad mine is running. i guess with winter coming it's time to pour some money into the car.

i'm going to get new shocks, struts and springs and see if that helps with the steering any. also, i have a rubbing noise somewhere in the middle to the back underneath. (could this relate to the front spinning sometimes?) i thought the brakes were going but the pads are like new. the right front rotor looks like it will be bad within a few months and i'm also buying a remanufactured front axle next week. (the boot is all but gone on the right side).

any suggestions to any of these problems/questions would be greatly appreciated. :)

thanks,

i think on the automatics theres a fuse that, if
missing disengages 4wd and does some other things.
check your fuses.

Correction to the last comment.... there is no fuse normally in the
slot ... a fuse must be placed in it to disengage the 4WD and make
the car temporarily FWD.. just wanted to clarify for you

Good luck

well, after talking with josh last night and diagnosing the car, it may have a bad duty solenoid c. this would maybe explain a few things. also the knock sensor was showing bad. going to reset the ecu tonight and drive it for a week and then check it again.
