Legacy fuel pump

Post by Z1Auto@aol.com »

Just though everyone might like to know that at least for the '91 models, the fuel pump flows 39.6 gallons per hour (gph) or about 149 liters per hour (lph).

Interestingly, we already know the '02 WRX fuel pump flows slightly less at 33 gph, or about 124.88 lph.

What i am going to measure today is the voltage getting to the pump at idle, vs under revs, to see if your pumps are regulated

So does that mean to stock fuel pump on my 91 Turbo is good for
higher boost? I mean more than 13 pounds, before hitting fuel cut?

The Legacy fuel pump runs on 12 volts Dc if the voltage is very low
it means your connector under the rear seat is probably defective.

It would be advisable to replace the stock pump if you are going to
be running high boost. We found that after a few mods and higher
boost levels that that stock pump just can't keep up with the demand
and we were getting lean out conditions and no you do not have to add
a fuel control device. The higher pressure at high revs will give a
better fuel spray out of the injectors also.
