Calling all electrical engineers

Post by John D »

I’m trying to incorporate a power door lock switch but need some help.

Go here for a pic of the switch and the info I have on it
http://www.sunnygulf.com/friends/lock.JPG

I already have a 2 wire actuator installed and connected to an alarm but would also like to install this switch. Are there any good electrical people out here that can explain what I connect to what? Do I need a relay? Or is the switch good enough since it’s momentary. I need to also keep in consideration that I would still like the alarm features of locking and unlocking the doors to still work. Please help I would love to get started on this on Friday or Saturday.

Thanks!

John,

If I had to guess, I'd say that 5 would be your common, or neg lead, and two and four would be your leads for pos. I'd really suggest trying to get a wiring diagram so you can see what it's like inside. Where did you get that switch from? Is it a general type switch, or from a specific car?
