Allright, the Liberty RS water/air intercooler install is creeping
along, and the next step is to find a place for the IC water pump
and wire it up. Does anyone know where I need to tap the wires on
my 93 Legacy? I want to be able to use the dual speed function of
the pump in relation to the throttle position, if possible.

Your best bet with the dual speed function is to use some sort of variable resistor or stepping type switch. What determines what speed the thing operates? Does the voltage decrease on the lower speed?

I'd need to know about the pump a little more and how it uses the dual speeds, and think about what to use to give it what it needs.

Yeah, sorry about that.

The intercooler water pump I'm talking about is straight off a
Liberty RS out of New Zealand. Two wires, red and black. It works
hooking it straight up to the battery, but I'm guessing it's
probably at its full speed. Here's the lowdown on the pump,

The diagram on the bottom shows it tapping into the ECU, so I'm
wondering if the Liberty RS's ECU contains a program to read 80%
from the TPS, and then switch it. If that's the case, I'm screwed,
cause I don't have the RS ECU, I'd have to run it at max speed and
risk burning it out early. But I'm hoping that the TPS itself can
send something to the pump if I tap into it right. As far as
electronics, I'm dumb as rocks when it comes to anything like
resistance, amperage, voltage, etc. But I'm a pure genius with
continuity! hehe :)

I wouldn't go hooking the pump up to the TPS or you could end up
with no ECU at all. A good way to control the speed of a small DC
motor is a solid state speed control. There is a kit for sale at
WWW.electronickits.com that works OK.
