WRX UpPipe on Turbo Legacy

Post by dolingabills »

I tried to do a search but couldn't find it. Did anyone ever figure
out if a stock 2002 wrx uppipe will fit a turbo legacy with out any
modifications? Is there an advantage for using a wrx uppipe?

I don't think it'll fit. But even if it did, they are more
restrictive than the stock legacy turbo up-pipe, with the added cat-
converter. Don't go after the Up-pipe, if anything change the
downpipe, this, many claim is the greatest restriction alone in the
whole system. I'm getting a nice 3" HKS cat-less downpipe. I plan on
tieing it in what a whole 3" system (downpipe back)

yes it fits fine, but no you don't want to use it for 2 reasons:

1. the Legacy one is decatted, the WRX one has a preturbo cat located in the
up-pipe.

2. The WRX uses a factory EGT sensor for the majority of its air-fuel
calibrations in the ecu..this sensor is located in the up-pipe, though the
Legacy does not use one, so you would need to seal this hole.

Stick with the Legacy one.....
