Hey guys

I have a 94 Legacy with the GT option package and I was wondering,
what the suspension upgrades were, compaired to the base model, if
any.

Also I am looking to get new springs, struts and sway barsm however I
can't seem to find any that are for the 90-94 legacys only 95 and
later models. Anyone have info to help?

Where do you live? I know outside the states they got the newer cars one year earlier then we did, which would make your 94 a 95 in the states. This may not be the case, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Springs should work regardless however. The 94 & 95 have essentually the same susp setup. The 95 may have a slightly higher spring rate....but I don't think that would hurt you any.

I'm in the US, I found the info that I was looking for at cars101.com
Apparently the only difference is that the GT package included a rear
sway bar, which the standard model don't have. Still need to check
for sure though.

Oh the rear springs are significantly different between the 90-94 and
95+ cars

Josh
I think he has the cross breed.
the older body stile(90-94) w/ the turbo bumper, and the raised roof.
But its NA 2.2 I think.
There is one of these running around Olympia, WA.

Wierd. I've seen a few other wagons rolling around
the states with the raised roof too. I was always
curious what model it was and what the hell it looked
like on the inside. Is there a lot more rear seat
headroom?

interesting......yeah I think subaru has a couple of those weird models.

Springs should not be that different. People take springs from the RS's and use them on the first gen legacies, turbos & non-turbos.

There is a difference in rear springs for the 90-91 & possibly some 92 MY's. The earlier models have tapered springs in the rear, the later model ones do not.

The front suspension on all newer subies are pretty much identical. You could take a forrestor front strut assembly and put it on a legacy or impreza. Some of the outback struts may change ride height, but they will physically bolt up fine.

As for the rear suspension. I'm not sure when the legacy switched over the rear multi-link suspension, but it is different then the older legacies and even the new imprezas.

You're right about the springs, I thought they were the tapered ones
from 90-94.

Oh, I have posted some pictures of my car. They are big so they
might take a little while to load. Also My car has the multi-link
but I've seen other 94s w/o maybe that's the suspension difference.

That is the weirdest thing. I've never heard of a 94 GT....and there's living proof......it's even got the side skirts......if that was defintely state-side bound......you've got one RARE car.

As for the suspension. From those pics, it looks to be the same as all the previous models. If you could geta pic of the suspension setup with the wheel off, I'd be able to tell for sure. But from those pics, it definitely looks the same.

It wasn't just State-Side bound, It was Built in Indiana with the
rest of them. The VIN# is 4S3BF6338R6990812

If you look through the archives at www.cars101.com it's listed in
the 90-94 section but as an option package not a different model.
There were 3 other option packages that are just as rare. I've only
seen 2 others like mine. Looks like I'm going to need to dig though
a dealers parts book to see what is different. It dose ride and
corner a little better the other legacys of the same year I've driven
but everything looks OEM
