Sorry for the interruption BC-BF owners,

Robert Faulkner (Subaru2 group)and 2.5L 2000 and newer owners,

I read several weeks ago about R. Faulkners problems with his car:
poor paint upon delivery and also what sounds like ( valve chatter)
engine piston slap.

My 2003 Baja got piston slap after 2000miles of use, I also have a
noticeable engine vibration at idle after proper warmup. Vibrations
much worse at the passenger side of engine. Engine seems out of
balance. I sense vibrations by pressing on the front ignition wire
rubber boot on the side of head. Factory Rep, Ed Luksic, says my car
is normal. I don't believe a word he says. Has anyone in this group
tested or own 2000 and newer 2.5L Subarus?

Could you describe your piston slap?
Can you sense engine vibrations as I have described?
Who else has piston slap out there?
Engine vibrations at idle?

1993 Legacy 5spd 133kmi runs great. Wish my Baja was as good.

You may want to check out the ultimate subaru message board for more info. There's been some recent posts about it. http://pub1.ezboard.com/bultimatesubarumessageboards
