Name that sensor!

Post by biggreen96 »

After I got home with my new ride, DLC's 93 turbo wagon:) I started poking around and was wondering what sensor this is.

It was grounded with the earthing kit. An attempt to cure the hesitation. I have since put the ingnitor back on its stock mount(still grounded with kit) and rewired the kit so its grounding near or on any ignition system conponent. cam sensor, tps sensor(may move to crank sensor, and diamond pack.

I don't believe the ignitor actually uses its chassis to ground at all... It does use it as a heat sink, though, so it's good to have it mounted on some steel.

Do you have grounds for the oxygen sensor and knock sensor?

It's in the hole of doom to the drivers side of the throttle body down under the intake manifold. We all concur that it is a dreadful place to work.

I once dropped a quarter down in there when I forgot to take it out of my throttle body. It sat under the knock sensor's wire pigtail. It took me literally an hour and a half to fish it back out. I ended up smearing RTV silicone adhesive on the end of magic fingers and having to let it set, and even then I almost lost it.
