Cruise Control

Post by J86 »

Hello,

I just bought a '93 Legacy L sedan. Noticed it has a cruise control button on the dash to the left of the wheel. I push it and a little orange light comes on, but cruise control sure as hell doesn't engage. The car didn't come with an owners manual, so is cruise broken or am I missing a step? Thanks.

Welcome. I know you'll love your new car. Take a little time to browse through the sticky threads on the BBS and you'll find a lot of information that you should know about your car.

After pushing the cruise control button, you have to engage the cc by pushing down on a little lever on the right back side of the steering wheel. When the steering wheel is straight, the lever is between the wheel and the windshield wiper lever.
I believe you have to push down on the lever to engage, then you can speed up or down by pushing up or down on the lever itself.

And if none of that works, ensure that under the hood you've got two cables going to the throttle body - or someone before you might have removed it.
