EDM vs. USDM Headlight Pattern (Pic)
Just thought some might like to see the difference side by side. I stopped mid swap to take a pic.
Left EDM, right USDM
I had cleared my stock light last year so they were in pretty good shape. The drive in to work this moring was a good test, blizzard like conditions at 5:30am, much better, very glad I got them done last night. I wired the city lights in with the parks. Now all I need to do is get the electric adjusters wired in.

No matter how broke I am... I always seem to find two cents.

I love my EDMs.
Took me a bit to get them aimed right, and to get used to the pattern, but they are FAR superior to my stock '91 lights.

EDM's rock.
I almost like the city lights as much as the output and pattern... well not really, but they are damn cool

i totally hate my plastic lights, who was the idiot to put plastic lights on a car in the first place. i cant see shit at night even with my high beams and i have polished the shit out of my lights. 300 bucks is way to much for me right now, some hella's or piaa's and a light bar is were im thinking about going for now. so you can adjust your lights in the car, thats just sick. you could take care of those assholes with there brights on, they wouldnt know what to think, lol!
my girlfriend finaly found out that i spent more money and time on my car then her. she was kind pist to say the least.

dirtyhandssubaru555, if you clean up your 92's plastic lights, put in good bulbs, and make a good wiring harness, you'll actually be able to see pretty well. If you look closely you'll find that your lights have a beam pattern very similar to the European-market lights.

could you show a pic of how you wired your city lights? did you just splice it right in to the wiring for the parks?All_talk wrote: I wired the city lights in with the parks. Now all I need to do is get the electric adjusters wired in.

Yep, I just paralleled them into the corner light harness (solder and srink tube). A pic of my setup might confuse you tho, I’ve moved my signal lights to the corners as well (two sets of driving/fog lights are in the stock location now), so I’ve rewired that harness for a dual filament bulb.Murphy wrote: could you show a pic of how you wired your city lights? did you just splice it right in to the wiring for the parks?

Old thread I know, I'm so sick of the dim lighting after only 10K
Subaru + Dirt Road = Rock chips
/ $300
___________
Other options :
1: Polished Plastic + Relay Kit
2: light Bar + Large Rounds
3: LED Bars
4: Retrofit Projectors into Plastic Housings W/ HID's
5: Sharks with Frikin Lazer Beams !
What do you think the best options are ? The EDM's sounds pretty sick, but for the price, couldn't I get a light bar and some big Hella's for that !?!
I just bought the EDM Projectors which I will be retrofitting them with 55w 3000K HID's, but ya can't drive around with Fogs on all the time (local law)
Whatchall Sayin EH ? Many years have passed, with numerous economical options

I really like the EDM lights. Would they be as good as a light bar....that I don't know, but I also don't know if you could drive around with a light bar & hella lights on all the time. So I guess it depends on what you're wanting....brighter lights all the time, or REALLY bright lights occassionally.

Re: EDM vs. USDM Headlight Pattern (Pic)
Ya your right, as bad ass as the bar and Rally lights would look, it's not like you could drive around on the road with them on all the time without blinding people and getting pulled over. So either way, retrofitting HID Projectors into the plastic housings or having a light bar would be technically for "off-Road" use only and boot DOT approved. Blinding people etc.
I was just afraid of Rock Chips on the expensive EDM units
So I think my best option would just be a relay kit and higher wattage bulbs until I biggt the bullet and buy the EDM units .
Thanks for your input Josh

3m makes a film specifically for protecting glass headlights.I went cheaper and used clear Gorilla Tape. Its pretty thick and has held up well.
