Agreed, the logo looks good!

Also, I've got some spare non-turbo ECU's laying around and would be willing to donate one if there's one in particular you would like to try. I'm assuming it was a JECS ECU that Legacymax used. If he can provide the year and info it came out of I can sort through the ECU's I have.

I'm headed up to Seattle over Presidents day weekend and could bring it with me.

Thanks for the feedback on the logo, but I distinctly remember not mentioning anything about a website :)

Really it is just an html sandbox with some basic information at the moment. It is not meant to impress anybody. However you can look through the FAQ section for chits and giggles.

Josh - That would be great if you would loan me one of those ECUs. I have no idea what year that came from, Max, can you chime in? I would be which ever JECS 4 plug ecu looks like the pictures on the inside. I am not certain I will be in town the night you will be in town. As it gets closer I will let you know. It is still ski season you know :)

It's too bad Pick n Pull raised their prices on ECUs. I suppose someone could go and open up a few and snap some photos. Hmm.....

That new logo looks great! If for no other reason, I want a robtune now just so I can rock your sticker on my car.

There's that "stickers" word again... Maybe I should stop this ECU nonsense and just sell those instead?

Rob, if you want some stickers, I can make some for you. Just send me a vector or high res image of the logo and I'll cut a couple dozen for ya. Once I do my ecu upgrades, I'd rock one under my hood too.

Also, I saw the email address, and checked out the site that way. Sorry for letting the cat out of the bag.

Yeah I think I've probably got at least a 90 and 92 JECS ECU. I'll look and see what I have this weekend.

Here are pics of the 92 JECS ECU.

Yeah I know it's still ski season :)

If you can't make it, I'll ship it up to you.

The 92 version in your picture isn't exactly the same as the one in Max's picture. You can see there is an extra riser card in the back corner of the main board opposite the chip socket. On Max's (and the EJ20G) that spot is unpopulated.

Yeah, I just noticed that. I just looked and the only JECS ecu's I have are the 92 that was in the picture and one for the 89-90. However that one is completely different and has a detached daughter board and doesn't have the heat sink for the transistors. So that one probably wouldn't work.

If you wanted an ECU that is identical looking, then you probably want one similar to what Max has. Did he post the part # by chance? I can then tell you what the other similar model years would be.

That post is just so everyone is very clear about the firing order and not confused by the ecu pins. I.e. when you look at the 20g ecu pinout, it says Ignition 1, Ignition 2, Ignition 3, Ignition 4

Image

What it should say is Cyl 1, Cyl 3, Cyl 2, Cyl 4 Ignition (I uess mine says 1, 2, 4, 5)

I pulled an ECU out of a 92-94 today and took the bottom plate off of it and bought it. Brought it home and took apart my Z4 ecu. I didn't get pictures of the N/A ecu board at P&P but I have to go back anyways so I will do so. I have confirmed that my Z4 ECU board mounts to the Jecs 92-94 ECU bracket that bolts to the car. Sorry for the blurry pic

No modification to the bracket was needed. ECU board bolted right up.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, this only works with the N/A JECS labled ECU?

I'm thinking so. Like I said, when I go back in a little bit I will snap a pic of the board itself so everyone will know exactly which ECU plate to get. The ECU i took the piece off even had a slot to add a Chip.

Well it seems that the only USDM boards that have that blank spot are JECS. That's why I'm making that assumption because it almost seems like they are based off the JDM boards (minus the correct amount of harness connectors).
