Yes it will. Once installed it will allow either the EJ22T ECU or the EJ20G to be plugged in without changing any wiring. That was a design goal of mine. The only reason to use it with an EJ22T ECU is in preparation of switching to an EJ20G ECU, or if you were running an EJ20G and wanted to quickly and easily revert back to stock. Hope that makes sense.

thanks for the quick reply, however still a little confused. if you have a stock EJ22T why would it be in preperation for the 20G ECU, is it because this is only meant for running bigger injectors and such. Also I do have a 20G motor but dont mind keeping it stock 22T ECU for the time being I guess is my confusion. Might this work on the 22 N/A, have one of these as well. Look forward to seeing it all put together just curious.

I think you might be missing the big picture. Some sort of ignition conversion is required to run an EJ20G ECU with the EJ22T ignition setup. You would only be interested in my converter if you have plans to switch ECUs types at some point. Since it is compatible with both ECUs without rewiring, you could install the converter ahead of swapping ECUs in case you were not ready to swap right away for whatever reason. Re-read the first post on why this is necessary.

Hi,

Short answer: Yes, EJ20 ECU for more tuning options that work w/the EJ22T.

Longer:
The EJ20 ECU has many more tuning options, including Rob's tune. Since the EJ20 ECU covered multiple years and markets - Europe/UK, Aussie, JDM - there are tons more and therefore much more for tuners to tune for.

And since Subaru was kind enough to share wiring pin-outs between the early Legacy/WRX/STi platforms there are only a couple changes to be made between swapping out ECUs...and w/this adapter it'll be plug-n-play.

The stock EJ22T ECU has had very limited support from the tuning community due to the short life-span and limited # of cars sold. Besides the Revtronix chip and piggy-backs, such as the PP6/Greddy/etc., there isn't much.

The Autronic standalone Mr. kleinkid uses is a great platform, but big $$.

I got some road testing in this weekend with the converter and the EJ20G ECU on Drew's car. I installed a watered down version of my tune (max boost @12psi) as there is no boost gauge yet. Short story is that it runs fantastic. This bitch is done! I have sent the PCBs out for fab and have parts ordered. Once I get the final BOM figured out and an idea how difficult it is going to be assemble with all of these surface mount parts I will have pricing info.

Sweetness!

I'll buy a ECU/converter when you have the parts in-house. Do you have a spec sheet for the ECU's so we can detail engine builds (turbo/injectors), and also pick rev limits, launch control settings, etc...?

Realize that without a dyno and you there on site for tuning, these tunes are going to be pretty generic.

But Rob has taken quite a bit of time to give us all another option for tuning that does not cost an arm and a leg.

More of a tune question, then a converter question....In any case, I can put any stock ECU image you want onto a chipped ECU. Frankly my tune is better than all of them, so I don't really see the point. Alternatively, you could buy any used EJ20G ECU version as well. It is up to you.

oh ok. If that is case, yes. I can chip any ej20g WRX ecu. There is no reason to pay more for an STi or RA any special version. They have identical electrical hardware and once chipped, it doesn't matter what they originally were.

Ok, just buy the cheapest EJ20G WRX ecu you can find. If it is in question, send me a PM with the ECU info and I can confirm it will be ok.

any of these ecu's are useable

U8, 2C - 1993/1994 WRX - 11.47psi
W6 - 1993 WRX RA - 11.47psi
W9 - 1994 WRX RA - 11.47psi
SA (STi chipped) - Ver1 STi (Sedan and Wagon) - 14.94psi
SB (STi chipped) - Ver1 STi-RA - 13.64psi
SC (STi chipped) - SAME AS Z4 - Ver2 STi Wagon - 12.78psi
Z4 - 1995/1996 WRX - 12.78psi
Z5 - 1995/1996 WRX-RA - 12.57psi
6K - Ver2 STi Sedan - 13.34psi
7K - Ver2 STi-RA - 13.19psi
Prodrive UK ECU (Prodrive Chipped) -- SAME AS 6K - 13.34psi
1C, 3B, V9, V5 - All WRX Wagons 10psi, dropping to 6.8psi
V7, 7D, 6D - 1993 to 1996 UK/Euro 11.47psi

and like rob said, once its chipped and tuned they are all the same so there is no point paying more money for an sti one over say the typically cheap U8 wrx ecu

I handed off the test mule still running my prototype back to Drew for some unbiased opinions on how it runs. I'll let him elaborate if he likes, but the report was that as far as the ignition system goes, it runs as stock.

Ok, parts and PCBs came back last week. I worked on assembling the first one. I did miss one trace on the board, so the first batch will need a blue wire...damn. I am working on a small test bench in order to verify each one build actually works. I also need to pick up some more wire, then I think I will be ready to take orders; maybe as soon as next week. I have settled on prices;

Converter = $90 ($70 for those already running my tune)
Converter + Tune = $350
Converter + EJ20G + Tune = $455

Shipping in the US is inclusive.

After the first one is finished, I'll post a pic.
