How to access the fuel pump relay

Post by macipusy »

What is the best way of removing the fuel pump relay? I have seen pictures of the relay location with the dash removed, but I would like to try not to remove the dash.
Seems like its going to be a PITA anyway, but how should I try to access the relay for testing and removal. I have looked under the dash, and it looks tight from every direction.

Took me about 30 mins... Take the fuse panel out and work your way up... I had to disconnect lots of harnesses to reach it

Yeah, even with the dash out, getting it from the bottom side is your best bet. That's how I'm probably going to have to do it.

your both correct the only easy way to get at the fuel pump relay is with the dash completely removed.
if you have a long flat head screw driver you can pop the relay off the bracket much easier than unbolting it. Then the slack in the wiring will allow you to reach it from underneath the dash

I actually just messed with the relays yesterday and getting it off with the dash out and the crash bar removed wasn't too bad. I'll post some pictures hopefully later today.

Can someone please tell me where the fuel pump relay is located? There are 3 black relays above the interior fuse panel. Is it one of those?
