Wideband A/F gauge users - Digital or Analog?

Post by georryan »

For those of you with Wideband Air/Fuel gauges, which do you prefer: A digital readout, or an sweeping dial gauge? I'm looking to get one, but I'm torn on which one to get.

I'm looking at getting the Innovative LC-2 controller with the Bosche 02 sensor. Just trying to figure out which gauge to get. I'm tempted to pick up one of those little small key sized digital readouts that I can use when I need, and stash away when I don't need it to keep my car from looking too modified.

I got one with a digital display, my reasoning was while a dial looks cooler, the digital display was more precise and useful with a quick glance and (probably) faster to respond to change.

Just go with AEM UEGO wideband and you won't look back. I've had one on each of my Subarus

I like my aem, digital readout and a sweep gauge, that can be adjusted to whatever psi max you prefer. and the sensor is self calibrating

I think I'm going to go for the PLX DM-6. Anyone had any experience with them? I can get one for about the same price as I can an AEM, and its expandable.

Does the AEM UEGO have a narrowband simulation line that I can wire up to the ecu so I can just replace my stock 02 sensor?

Having the narrowband simulator is important IMO so you don't have to be adding a bunch of O2 bungs in your exhaust.

I couldn't find out if the AEM UEGO had a narrowband output. The failsafe seemed to I believe, but it was more expensive. The PLX has the downside of having little modules you have to locate somewhere, but it seemed to be pretty good and well priced. I went with that. It also has the added benefit that I could order the boost expansion to it, so I could have the boost and A/F readings coming into one gauge. For now I'll keep them separate.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll have some updates when I get it in.
