Help Identifying this connector

Good morning, A couple of years ago I swapped my 2.5 for the 2.0tt directly from Japan. My legacy is 5sp, manual. The engine swap has the purple maf and the 13 ecu, so most likely an auto. I've been having a problem from day 1, the engine isn't revving pass 4500 rpm. I believe that the ecu still thinks that it's connected to an auto transmission and is stuck in either park or neutral. I didn't get the jdm auto inhibitor or harness with the swap, but I do have this connector that been idling since the swap. Can any one tell me if this is the connector that connects the inhibitor to the ecu? I think it is but it do look different from pics I saw online. Also if this isn't the connector, is there a way I could ground or jump the auto pin on the ecu to trick it that I'm in D. and what pin is it?

I have an inhibitor switch and harness from a 98 impreza from a junk yard here in Florida, I'm also trying to see if I can swap connectors and rig up a harness that can mate the usdm inhibitor to the jdm ecu.

I just get error messages from the site you are linking to. I cant see any of the images

But if all you are trying to do is find that wire, the 5 speed and auto ECU's are the same. Except the one wire that you are looking for, that tells it its an auto.

hi Second Gear thanks for your reply, sorry about the delay in responding back is was wrapped up with moving to Missouri for a couple of months to start a brand new career in truck driving. sorry also about the difficulties seeing the images. I spent the last hour trying to figure out how to upload or send pictures with out success. Thanks for the info and help.

It might be that only members of that site can see pictures. I would encourage you to open a photobucket or flickr account, upload there and post the links. Either site has apps for Android and IOS making uploading pics a snap.

I know that I have to rig up the two connectors but I need help locating the pin on the ecu that I have to connect to the usdm switch.

I updated your post so the pictures show up.

That first connector is the B15 connector that will have the neutral switch, reverse lights, and starter interlock circuit running through them. I don't know if the overseas cars are wired the same, but if you're able to start the car I don't think doing anything with this connector will solve your problems.

The ECU determines whether it's an auto or manual based on an AT/MT identifier pin at the ECU. That pin will either have a wire to that is grounded or not have any wire going to it. Do you have an ECU I/O for the ECU in your car? Find out which pin is the AT/MT identifier pin and see if there is a wire in that pin or not. If there's a wire, cut the wire a couple inches back from the ECU. If there is no wire, you need to try and find another ECU pin you can put into that spot and run the other end of the wire to ground.

Read over the electrical part of my AWD & 5spd swap it may give you a little more background/information on what I'm talking about.

Hi Josh Thank you soo much for you help and uploading those photos. I'm still waiting back from those guys in the Uk to get back to me on the I/O and pin number for that ecu. Unfortunately that particular legacy generation has such a large variation of ecu's and more unfortunately, the 13 ecu has the least interest and info, what ever schematics there is on that ecu online is unreadable.

I'll send the info as soon as I get it. Thank you again.
