1992 Legacy Sun Roof control box relay issue

My 1992 Legacy Turbo has a factory electric sun roof, the SR switch operates fine, the wiring to the switch promotes a click from the control box next to the motor, the motor runs off the vehicle. When I stripped the control box to clean relay contacts the result was a louder click but still no roof movement.
The relays are OMRON G8H-1C7P 12vdc, part 0851DO these are on a pcb not plug in.
My question is do I hunt down a couple of these relays or their equivalent or attempt to install a later control box and or motor?
Anyone tried this option?
I'm in UK where the numbers of Gen1 S2 with Sr are few on the road these days.
Photos below show sun roof control box ,relay, motor etc

If you have the skills for soldering and you can find the relays that would be the best approach. I'm not sure how trying to find a newer control box and motor would work out. The control box and wiring would be my concern and how you would be able to get it to work without adding or modifying the current wiring.

Good advice, the manufacturer OMRON sell relays in boxes of 600 but they are the modern spade connection, I'm searching for an equivalent relay that can do the job and fit onto the board. I'll let the forum know how I get on.

Yeah, keep us posted.

Another option you may consider is seeing if someone in the US or Canada would sell and ship you a control box. You could either try using it as is or just snag the relays.

You may want to post something in the parts shed and see if you get any bites.

I travel to the UK fairly regularly, so if shipping becomes an issue I can work with you to get something figured out.

Josh, Thanks for your most helpful offer, I'll be in touch. The UK supplier has just come back with even the spade relays are no longer available - which seems odd.

I posted some Facebook subie group links in your WTB post. I'd suggest checking those out as well.

Update, yesterday whilst at a motor race circuit another Subaru enthusiast looked at my Legacy sunroof and immediately diagnosed the likely problem as rust in the sunroof tracks - he reckoned the effort to turn the sunroof with the emergency handle was too great and should be 1 finger pressure.
My sunroof has always been slow and when using the handle quiet stiff to turn, do I need to remove the whole unit to access the track that runs inside the tubing?
Or can I find an access point other than where the motor locates into the track to pump in freeing fluid.
Anyone undertaken this task?
Please see photo of the metal tubing containing the track below

Spent 3 hrs this am removing the sr motor spraying silicone onto the 30mm of cable then refitting , repeating actions every 30mm , net result slightly smoother action when wound on handle but just clicking of relays when sr switch operated . Too old/ tired to continue today.

Update went thru the process on the wanted reply .
Added the two bridges to the pcb board as per the link provided.
Plenty of relay clicks but no sign of sun roof moving open close etc.
Now its back to the emergency handle operation.

Hi I now understand the same blue control box was fitted to the IZSU Longhorn wagon , anyone on this forum seen one for parts?

We never got those in the states that I know of.

My latest turbo legacy did the same thing as yours, I heard a click but nothing happened. There is some kind of logic that won't allow the motor to operate if the resistance encountered is above a set percentage. Like a primitive limit switch.

What worked for me is I cranked open and close the sunroof manually several times, adding a little lubricant (I used waterproof axle grease) each pass. When it became easy to open by hand, the sunroof controls worked again.

Glad to learn mike-tracy you were successful with your sun roof, I've had the whole unit out twice now - 1st time to redo the seal then to attempt a repair.
I'm back to the emergency handle.
I think the ISUZU was marketed as Longhorn in some markets

I'm working on the Legacy again, still require the sunroof switch - up down back forth for my 1992 Legacy Turbo.plus the blue control box that sits behind the driver in the roof on RHD car. I'll get the correct photos sorted later today. And put my wants on correct parts shed.
