hks fcd on my 92 ss/ turbo timer install question

Post by sliverumble »

Ok so Ive got an hks fcd installed on my 92 legacy ss. Wasnt working super well and then I found one of the breather hoses running off the top of my intake manifold to the turbo inlet came off. So I attached it and then I was boosting 14.5 to 15 no problem, no hesitation and I was loving driving it again. It was running great for about a week and then yesterday I put my foot into it and it was only boosting 8 psi so naturally I think that breather/vacuum line came off again. I checked it and no it was still on there. I checked all the lines coming off the intake, to my solenoids etc and they all seem fine.

Does anyone have an idea what could have happened?

Also just got a turbo timer from apexi. Ive read that you dont really need one on subaru's but thats after I ordered it and got it. I know I have the ecu ground and o2 sensor wires tapped correctly. I had a bit of an issue finding the right e-brake wire. Looked like green/white coming off it. Anyone know if thats the right wire? Also what does the ignition harness/loom look like. I found 4 wires that are RED, BLUE/RED, and GREEN with another color. They have a black plug. Is that it or did I look right past it?

PLEASE HELP
Thanks

I would just sell the turbo timer. You really don't need one on water cooled turbos.

What are you using for boost control?

I'm using a manual boost controller

I'd suggest double checking all the vacuum/boost hoses going to and from the boost controller. Check to make sure they're not plugged.

I think I figured out what was going on. My spring slipped out from its perch and wasnt holding the ball down to the bottom. Is it nessesary to lube that ball in the boost controller?

No I don't think you should have to lube the ball. Were there any burrs or rough surfaces that would keep the ball from seating properly? What type of manual boost controller are you using?
