i was excited to get a new turbo, a td04, "like new, 50k, no shaft play, cracks, doesnt burn oil." but it arrived in a box with a little bubble wrap taped around it. the side of the box was torn open and i could see bent coolant lines poking through. i take it out and there is enough shaft play to nearly touch the wheel to the housing on the cold side. on top of that the cold side inlet had oil in the inlet and a fine layer of oil covering the inside of the outlet as far back as i can see. this is not a good sign correct? does this mean blown seals? this sucks... im broke and this happening just discouraged me about my mods bigtime.... the upside is that the turbo was insured prior to shipping, but i didnt ask the guy to do it so it makes me suspicious that he knew it was messed up and he insured it to cover his ass. what should i do? file a pay pal claim or go to the post office and see what they say? it was even marked fragile and it still came like they dragged it behind the postal truck.
