sorry if its been covered but most of the td04 info i see are ppl asking about the 90* elbow and mounting questions.
im about to swap a td04 in my 93ss which already has a tmic. my question is, do i need a fuel management/tuning program to help with proper afr's or am i good to go to just slap it in. i purchased a turboxs mbc and a boost/vaccuum gauge to go along with the install. im not trying to turn the boost up and run like a raped ape, my vf11 is leaking/smoking and figured the td04 would be a small but decent upgrade

Re: TD04 swap fuel management question
Your ecu will be sufficient to handle the TD04. Since fuel cut is right around 14psi, so long as you have a healthy engine, you should be fine running it right below cut, since the TD04 is only a little bit bigger turbo.
Edit: WTDash pointed out that on a stock ej22t ecu, fuel cut actually occurs at or around 13psi.

Re: TD04 swap fuel management question
You'll definitely be fine. Fuel cut saves your bacon within a safe limit on the TD04. The RRFPR is really only needed when using a bigger turbo or an FCD to run past 14psi.

Re: TD04 swap fuel management question
Just a heads up (and no offense to Mike) but Fuel Cut is @ 13 psi, per the Legacy Turbo FAQ. I point it out so you don't set your MBC @ 13 and wonder why every 3 seconds it cuts boost. Set it to 12 and you'll be good to go, depending on your elevation in CO.
Oh, and since you read all those posts about the 90 elbow and TD04 you're prepared, correct?
