i noticed that the jdm tdo4 sounds like a super charger when it its in boost. is that normal? it holds boost fine and kicks in hard

more like a whipple super charger sound. it doent smoke boost kicks in better than my old vf 11 and holds 12 psi of boost til i let go of the throttle

Still probably has a bent/chipped fin. As long as its not smoking and is holding boost, it should be fine!

i noticed the hose from my tmic to my turbo has a very tight bend in it. would that cause anything? its litterly half the hose is blocked by the bend

Maybe your turbo is working harder (spinning faster) to maintain pressure past that bend. I would definitely try to fix that, your performance should improve a little bit.

Mine is loud like that too. But it is in top notch condition. I figured it would be quieter like a wrx. I contribute mine being load to 3" intake and 3" exhaust

same here. i read on other forums some tdo4's just spool crazy loud.

Mine was barely louder than my VF-11. Definitely wouldn't say crazy loud. But its pretty subjective too.

Mine is a lot louder than the vf11 as well. I had concern but have been driving it for a while with no ill effects and great boost.

my whistle is from the pipe they put in the silcone elbow so it wont collapse
