92 subaru legacy hesitation on accel, blows smoke

Post by chanley2010 »

whats up guys, just recently got another ej22 turbo with some demons in her. after starting the car when reving the engine to higher rpms, car blows blueish smoke out the tailpipe. this is an automatic and occurs when not in gear, when in gear and trying to accel i have a major hesitation and the cel light will come on and flash. i plugged in the black connector and it flashed a code 11, 13, 22 and 32. this is crank position, cam position, knock sensor and o2 sensor. after disconnecting the black connector i connected the green connector and drove the car. after driving i found the cel on flashing only the code 22 (knock). i know there was a tab for those but the white connector end shows the sensor has been replaced. I'm wondering if maybe my turbo bearing is done for and is pissing oil or is completely done for but not to sure yet. if anyones got any ideas i appreciate any help.

I bet the o2 sensor is borderline bad.

I would check the turbo to see if it's leaking oil internally, that could kill the O2 sensor and cats.

The hesitation is likely caused by the knock sensor. Check the resistance of it and of the wiring from the connector in the engine bay to the ECU to make sure it's good.

You may have multiple issues with the blue smoke and hesitation.
