So far haven't been killed by anything. As they say, you have to choose the battles you want to win! :D

I just got an interesting kill...
1 maroon legacy turbo station wagon (looked to be stock). 2x on an expressway. I lost once.

First time i got a gorgeous leap on him at the light, third time my start was ugly so we took off next to eachother.

I must say, them turboes have a beautiful midrange. At 3k, he pulled me nicely. After 2nd, though, i was right at his back bumper, not losing any ground.

My conclusion was that while the turbo is faster, the difference between it and my NA would not be noticable once you threw in some turns. I guess 300 pounds and a slushbox really hurt.

Hello to the maroon wagon, if you're out here!

Absolutely true. You can only enter a given corner so fast so a turbo will have no advantage. The only difference is that if you have the turbo in the boost range whilst exiting a turn then no NA Legacy is going to keep up! I've tried it... Mind you I wouldn't be so sure about the new 3-litre flat 6 one, especially when it becomes available with a manual tranny!! 8)

I don't know if anyone's noticed but the new flat six is apparently only 20cm longer and 20 kilos heavier than the EJ25. Who's going to be first to fit one then? Josh??

A few years back someone built a turbo Chrysler minivan for the $2000 challenge at Grassroots Motorsports and the thing ran easily in the 13's. Now that would be cool. Until it blows up, of course.

I've heard somewere that the gear ratios between the turbo and the n/a are different. Is that true? If so, that would affect the acceleration of the n/a right?

Last night i was on my way to the local wal-mart (on a baby supply run)just cruising around 60 mph when a car came up on me fast in the left lane then slowed just in front of me. He would hit the gas then fall back just in front of me again trying to get me to race. I think it was a some kind of Ford maybe a taurus or focus or something. It was hard to tell because it was debadged and had lots of body kits, wheels and a loud exhaust. So finally I bite drop into 3rd and punch it. Now he's out probably 6 car lengths on me when I hit it and I know he punched it too because the sound and his headlights. This guy had no bussiness trying to race anyone because I gained on him like he was standing still, passed him at about 85 pulled away to about 100 at about 15 car lengths then took my exit LMAO. It made my night. :D

My N/A fwd 5Mt has a 3.70 final drive. They must have done it because there would be no traction in foul weather from a start otherwise.

I like that Walmart story...

I had a similar. I'm cruising on the highway with cruise control (akward sentence  ). Of all things a Vw CABRIOLET, yes the old body style, pulls up and blips his throttle. Now, don't be mistaken. It was a very clean car with nice subtle work and paint. I hit accelerate on my cruise control and start pacing him. I'm thinking to myself "Is he kidding?". I finally want to determine this for real. We are on a nice flat straight piece of road, so I finally drop the hammer in 4th and blow by him like a fish french-kissing an electric eel. He comes humming back up and wants to go again. I decline... until we get to a batch of cars blocking all 3 lanes. I wait and wait until I blast through a hole that is starting to close. He has absolutely no power to make it anywhere near the hole and I'm back on cruise control for a couple of minutes until he gets through that traffic and catches back up. It went on and on and I did other things to him... fun night. The car was still relatively new to me and had the slipping clutch.

On a trip to Cincinnati from Columbus, I saw some Xenon headlights coming up pretty fast in my rear view. I get over and let him come up beside me. It was a 2nd gen eclipse GS-T. We made several pulls from 80. I easily pulled away each time. Out of no where, an Audi 1.8T tried to compete...no contest. After the fun was over, we all ended up caravanning all the way down 71 at about 90mph.

I've been roasted by a newer Z28 at a 60 mph roll on. I was at 10psi, but I doubt it would have been much different at 15.

Not a subaru kill but so much fun. I was taking a ride in my buddy's 80 VW rabbit that we turboed. His best run is 13.58 at 101.5 We pulled up at a light next to a Boxter S and revved it a few times. The guy laughed at us. (my buddy still had the 13.60 dial on the window) The light goes green, we take off. He pulled a half a car off the line but we were even by the top of first. My buddy burned the clutch into second (cause of my weight) so he had to feather the throtle all the way through second. The boxter pulled about a car. We hit third and the clutch held, we pulled even then just pulled away. :D I will never forget the look on his face.

While testing something yesterday some chick in a solara pulled up to next to me, the lanes merge about 600 feet down. We take off I'm on the right side, I got the jump on the light, but through first she pulled so i was at her door, then second I got about even with her, got about half way past her, then she got me in third, and as soon as she came back up there was one of those big rigs carring cars on my side of the road(just as the lanes were merging) So rather than be smashed into it I decided to brake :(. Street racing is dangerous!
