Leaving the world of imports for a while

Post by Splinter »

Ive decided to pull the plug for now. The destruction of the crank really got me down. In a couple months Ill tear apart the block and rebuild it as a 9:1 2.35L stroker with all forged internals. Until then, it's gonna sit. My friend was selling a car last night for $800 because he's moving and doesnt have room for it, so I grabbed it.

Your gonna need to grow a bitchin mullet, a beer gut and get a real skanky crack whore girlfriend to go with that thing... and oh yeah, some Billy Squire to rock on the tape deck. :-D

Driving and working on that thing will make you appreciate your Subaru all the more... you'll be back. But I'm sure it will be some fun in the mean time.

Sorry to hear about your crank pulley trouble, sucks!

Gary

Oh BTW, I like Billy Squire. :P
No matter how broke I am... I always seem to find two cents.

$800 is a steal for that thing! I dig it. Just don't crash it and you can make some good money on that whenever you want to flip it. I'm sure it's a blast to drive!

Hell I'd have paid at least twice for that. Old TA's are bitchin'. Much easier to figure out/work on. Is that the small block 400?

Have fun painting parking lots.

Need the accompanying trim pieces associated with that swap more than the swap, itself. . . but I'll probably go ahead and put the belts in, too. ;)

If anyone can find tan seatbelts & hardware, GRAB THEM!

I've got an idea how I'd modify the trim pieces, but I'd definitely take the trim pieces if they were available.

Damn tan interior....

Bring plenty of match books for the 8-track.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Big block ftw!

Two weeks ago I road in a buddy's '69 Camaro SS 396. It's bored, stroked, matching #'s, Holley 1150 Dominator, and all the good stuff. All I can say there's nothing like 680 N/A RWHP (before the bottle) of big block american iron. He can't go to a single gas station without people swarming. The clutch and shifter throws are huge, and you have to manhandle that beast. The rubber flaps (not mudflaps, since the car doesn't see mud) keep molten rubber from the 14" wide Radial T/A's off the fenders.

It arrived this morning, and after a lot of swearing and cursing, I got it running and drove it to my friends shop. Rear end swap will take a few hours each evening for the next couple days, and after that I shouldnt have to touch anything

Im going to gut the interior tho, its pretty manky.
