I miss this place. Been meaning to put up items for sale lately. Maybe the whole legacy. I go back and forth a lot on that.

Completed the break-in procedure on my recent motor rebuild of my Impreza today. Excited, happy, and accomplished. Much work to do on the build journals, soon to come....

Finished milling these 25D heads to except Kelford 282 Cam's.

Also had something strange going on with my 1997 OBS. Had negative degree temps the other morning and my speedo started going crazy. I'm assuming the issue is related to the cold temps freezing up things.

Went to the junk yard this morning to look for a legacy turbo badge and came out with a 22t short block. The badge was missing from the car unfortunately, but I have another closed deck short block for my collection.

Got to use my new wiseco piston ring compressor. I have to say it is totally worth the money and makes installation extremely easy.

The heater in my 1997 Impreza OBS had been very noisy and didn't blow very well since I purchased it in October. Then the other day the fan power level control stopped working except in the high position.

I diagnosed the blower motor as being a worn out bearing and the fan control as being a failing resistor.

Installed a new blower motor resistor and got the fan control working again. Little tricky getting to it behind the glove box.

When I went to replace the blower motor I discovered a mouse village inside. It was no wonder why the air flow seemed so weak. Absolutely disgusting cleaning all that shit out and not the first car I've seen that happen to.

Resistor:

Been working on my GF's car the last couple days, what started as just a leaky rear main seal repair turned into a complete rebuild.
Basically whoever put there hands on this motor before me had no idea what the hell they were doing and in turn killed the motor.

For my first projects, I put in a different boost gauge and swapped on some summer tread on the new, rust free addition to my driveway. Many thanks Mike. This car is a beast!

Pulled the awd parts wagon out of the bushes, pressure washed and started tearing down. Got the engine and transmission out. Going to be swapping drivetrain over to fwd sedan.

Added a new row of Hella lights. Went a size bigger this time. Decided to add vinyl to the back of my rally armor flaps to give a different look and match the car up a bit more. I just did the back side of the flaps. I want to see how it holds up. Getting enough car wrap to do all four would be cheap and an easy way to customize them. Lots of different textures and colors to choose from. metrorestyling.com has a ton if anybody is interested.

UPDATE: Sooo... after banging back roads for most of the morning, I can definitely say that vinyl on mud flaps is a stupid idea. lol They are pretty torn up.

Tried to replace front brake pads. Turns out I have siezed caliper piston. Need to order a new one or get some used dual piston ones.

YESTERDAY

I did an oil change/transmission oil change/differential oil change, raised my coilovers (a bit in the front, a lot in the rear), AND took the failing tint off the front two windows. I belong to a local car club that has lifts/wash bays/oil disposal, so it makes everything an absolute breeze!

I'll have to post pictures after my first autocross on Sunday. Pretty excited for it.

The lift and oil change are definitely worth it. What kind of turbo are you looking for?
