I'd like to try and get an assault rifle of some kind. I've got .40 cal Springfield XDM & 12 gauge Remington 870 super mag.

How do you like that XDM? I've been looking for either a .40 or a .380.
I also have a 870 mag. and love it. Just took it out shooting last weekend, in fact.

I do clay shoots every so often. They're fun.

I really like the XDM. When I got it, they were having a special and you got an extra magazine or two for free....I don't remember for sure whether it was one or two. I liked it had the adjustable back pieces, and it's been a good gun to shoot. It has one of the larger/largest magazines for the caliber. Same for the 9mm.

An old thread...

... but that's my Glock 21. I actually bought it about 3 years ago, but I never had the chance to take it to the range until last week.

Most of my friends hate Glocks with a passion, but when I was at the range, I rented a Sig Sauer P229. Though I was more accurate with the Glock, I won't take that into account, as the Glock is brand-new and the Sig was a well-used rental. But the Glock is way easier to use, more comfortable, and though the Sig was a 40 caliber and the Glock is a 45, the Glock had less recoil. Plus the Glock has a reputation for unthinkable feats of durability.
