Old turbo= New lamp

Post by Grayguy »

A buddy had a picture of a lamp he had made out of an LS chevy cam on facebook last night, and it got thee old gears turning in my head. 1.5 hrs and $15 (for the Walmart table lamp) later I have myself a new table lamp for the desk. what do you guys think?

Looks heavy. Would be great if it were handy when someone broke in. $15 is pretty damn cheap, but as an FYI in case you start getting into making lamps, you can also buy parts to make your own lamps at Lowes and Home Depot.

Cool idea but you should have used a turbo heat shield as the lamp shade.

If I had a turbo heat shield it would be around my 16G preventing my massive heat soak haha.

i figured I could get lamp parts at Menards but i was already at Walmart and it was just convenient

I've got a couple layin around. Ej20g one and the 22t chimney one. I have a heat blanket so no need for the shield and I don't think it would fit over the blanket.
