I have two! The jdm sedan is waiting for a 20k swap as I'm sick of dealing with the legacy 20g hydro lifters and the drift car needs some more dyno time to tune the aem

Not in my case. After upgrading everything to meet or exceed a stock wrx I've spent over 20 grand I'm sure.

Do you ever think, why the hell do I keep putting money in this car? I do, but it's paid for and it's fun to drive.

I'm about 7/8k into mine and I only have a boost leak to worry about. Obviously these cars get less driveable as you dump more cash into them.

I'm sure I've got an easy $20k in mine between an AWD & 5spd swap, ej22t swap, 2nd ej22t rebuild with forged internals, 6spd swap, AWIC, Deadbolt TD05-16G, brakes, suspension, manual seat belt swap, Link ECU, tuning....and list goes on....

It's really quite ridiculous if you think about it....which is why I try not to think about all the money I've spent.

Its really not so ridiculous IMO. I could buy a Bugeye with what ive put in my car. But then I'd have a smaller, slower car thats styled like a WRC advertisement. Why in the world would I do that? Sure its less rusty and has working AC, but thats no reason to pour my hard earned cash into a car I need to settle for.

Even at 20G into it (which I will be eventually if the car lasts that long, lol), I wouldnt take an STI over it for the same reasons. LGT Spec B, MAYBE, since theyre so sexy. But at the end of the day, the car you want to have is worth as much as youre willing to spend on it. Id rather most of that money go into the exact parts I want than whatever the manufacturer thought would sell the most.

Would be really nice if insurance companies thought the same though.
