PNW road trip meeting party bar-b-que. UPDATE:Cancelled

Post by kleinkid »

I'd be willing to host a get together at my house on Whidbey Island, Washington, the weekend of June 27-28. You could arrive Friday or Saturday. Maybe organize a caravan starting from the south and head north, joining others on the way. Probably a five hour drive from Portland. I would reccomend I-5 north to Hwy. 20 at Burlington, then go west. You would then cross onto Whidbey Island via the Deception Pass Bridge. We'll bar-b-que, consume many calories, have a beverage. Indoor/outdoor camping in my yard, depending on how many are here. I'll feed you dinner and breakfast. Maybe go on a local cruise. You can return home on Sunday, or whenever. This is an early notice, but will give you a chance to think about it and plan. At a later date I can give you my address via a PM, after you RSVP. Generally I am located on the west side of the island, between Oak Harbor and Coupeville, on the beach, great views, beachcombing, etc. I sincerely invite you to get out of Dodge, and come on up! Would really like to have this for the Legacy community, you know, the Legacy Central faithful. Any other stray Subaru afficiando, would certainly be welcome though. Bellinghamsters you are very close. Spokane crew, you are a few miles away, but certainly welcome.

UPDATE cancelled for end of June, will reschedule for a later date. Sorry. John.

Sounds like a good time. I work weekends though. Plus the legacy is still without a motor for the time being. Until I save up some money to get the motor ready or sell the twin turbo motor to pay for it.

You know I'd like to go John. Sounds like fun.

I really wish I lived near some more Legacy owners. There's a small handful of the newer legacies, but no first gen.

Thanks but like I said, I'll have to work. I hate working weekends, it's pretty lame. I'd really like to meet some other legacy owners and check out their cars though. If it was in advance enough I might be able to take the day off or something.

If you know you have to work weekends, try to swap days with someone else to try to make it work. Plenty of time to figure something out.

That's actually a bad time of year for me. I'm a dealer at a casino and that's fireworks season for the indians. Which means several of the dealers who are native take like a month off of work and we'll be shorthanded until after the 4th. On the 8th of July I fly out to boston for a week.

None of the dealers that I can think of have the weekend off. You basically get sun and mon off or wed and thurs (my days off), or mon tues, or tues weds. Nobody gets friday and saturday off.

I am going to have to cancel this invitation, for now, may be able to reschedule for July if there is interest. I still want to do it. Will be working for a few weeks the end of June.
