LCO WA ski/snowboard day?

Post by 206er »

Who is down for a meet at one of the local ski areas? Seems like there should be a fair amount of skiers/boarders on here. we could meet up in the morning in the parking lot or perhaps even convoy up. get into groups to go make some turns for a bit, meet back in the parking lot for a barbecue and frosty beverages, BS about subarus, then finish out the day and maybe go spin some donuts somewhere.
I'd tend to say stevens pass for a location, but anywhere is cool with me. Baker is a big drive for most and snoqualmie is not that great. maybe shoot for mid december some time?
I have a 2 burner coleman stove I can bring for coffee/cocoa and if someone has a small grille or hibachi or something that they could bring, awesome.

So who's on board(no pun intended)? post up.

I'd be down. I just went to Crystal yesterday. It was amazing. I can't believe it's already opened. PLUS they were giving out cheap lift tickets.

I'm may be new to Subies, but not to skiing.

-Crystal would be great, I know that mountain better than the back of my hand.
-Snoqualmie might not be anything special, but Alpental right next door (and included in a Snoqualmie ticket) has amazing backcountry.
-Haven't spent too much time at Stevens. Isn't it 2-2.5 hours from Seattle?

Either way, I'm probably in.

I may be down but I doubt it. I snowboard but with my night schedule it's rough. Plus the subaru still does not run. But I'm working on that. The metro will make it though lol. It didn't fail me last year.

Never been to Crystal. I always go to white pass because I have friends who go there and work there and it was the first place I ever went and have been going there for like 10 years.

I'm off on tuesdays and wednesdays so that also makes it tough for people who work during the week to go with me so I'm probably out.

It's not bad if you have good tires. You'll be able to accelerate a little slower than normal in your car but braking and turning need to be done with more care. Going down icy hills I downshift, because braking will make your tail end come out. I'm from Cali originally, but have lived in Wa for 3 years, and have enjoyed the winters up here.

i got myself a season pass to snoqualmie this year, so i've been going up to alpental whenever there has been new snow. which unfortunately, hasn't been too often this season :/

i'm still down for a meet. i'll go anywhere, but i prefer snoqualmie since i'm all paid for there. also, i can get half price tickets for up to two people with my season pass.

the local mountains just got some snow last night, and possibly more this weekend. i might be able to go on monday or tuesday (march 1st or 2nd)

Woah it's not over yet? I need to go up. My last run of the season I crashed doing a 360, not the best way to end the season :(
