Calling ALL CO members for a meet/cruise!! 8-10-13 meet

Post by alexandermf »

time to get together for another summer cruise!! Since some of us werent able to make it out for the conjoined dirty impreza cruise because of a lil dirt ;) this will be all tarmac and highway driving!!

This meet will take place the second Saturday of August, the tenth. Again to accommodate all members within Colorados range we will be meeting in Denver at the red rocks amphitheatre like last time!! We won't need permits and whatnot so don't sorry, we are simply using this as a meeting spot only.... Upper lot by the actual amphitheatre!

Time to meet at red rocks will be 11am-12noon, once noon rolls around the group will head out for the cruising part :) hopefully everyone can show up closer to 11 so we can talk/bs and maybe take some pics in the parking lot before more taken on the drive.

We will be cruising from red rocks to lookout mountain which is roughly 20-30 mins drive if you check any maps app. Here is a mini map I've taken a shot of the said cruise. I heard those roads were great for scenery and cruising so we can take some pics as well when we get there, maybe some action shots on the way :)

I figure from lookout mountain we can go grab a bite and crash a local food joint closer in the city... Location: TWIN PEAKS RESTAURANT

Once we are done cruising to Lookout mountain everyone is more than welcome to come grab a bite with the group at Twin Peaks :) its about 15-20 min drive and perfect spot to grub down and crash with the scoobies. Here is a map that shows the route from lookout to the restaurant, I figure we will be getting to Twin Peaks anywhere from 1-2pm.

All makes and models welcome, spread the word to anyone you know that might wanna come or who you know drives a first gen that normally doesn't visit the forums here often. Go ahead and mark your calendars and request that date off with work or other duties.

Checklist to bring:
-Enough gas to last a couple hours of cruising, fillup BEFORE hand preez.
-snacks, water anything you'll want to keep your stomach held over until we get lunch around 1-2pm ish
-general lookover of your vehicle to make sure its safe to drive, no inspections will be taking place, drive at your own risk and have a good time, we should all have a good time like last time!!

I would say Sunday would be the best day for me for any meet or car show! And I'm up in the North Denver and I don't care where I drive to for any car meet.

i def agree on the sunday opinion... my work is least busy sundays anyways but im available to request any day off normally, weekends usually being the easiest cuz other servers love picking up weekend shifts :P i however would glady sacrifice a night of work for a subie meet anyday

Joe how long has the clutch been in for? Did Greg fix your timing components yet? Dave why not, guessing too busy with the little one?

-The non-resurfaced flywheel compromised the clutch its whole life but its been in there over three years now.
-Yes, Greg did get all that done for me. Car drives, runs, just cant really push it. There has been a few times the clutch has slipped on stock boost and it definitely wont hold 15 psi where I had it.

Not coming back to live but will for visits. I got a car trailer for drive although I know it would have made the drive down without issue.

Lol I bet it looked good in rearview on the way down,Hows that nice sea level air for ya!? My na feels turbo status at sea level lol.

Hmmm ur down near Durango ya? I'd say two tanks of gas max for an entire day trip to and from denver. Depending on when/where you wouldnt have to worry about food/beverage.

Weekends are great for me. Although the tleg might be down for body work and the gc isn't going anywhere but I might be able to bring the tsi down or ride around the ej207 sti swapped legacy wagon lol....

Im in NM but would consider driving my way North for a get together. Im in Farmington just South of Durango. Probably a 7-8 hr drive to Denver depending on where you guys hold the meet. Have you selected a date yet? My son has a 1998 OBS/STI, might talk him in to coming too....let me know location and date and I will do my best to get up there! THX.....pete

Wow good to hear a few ppl down for a good meet! I will get a date set tomorrow and post here, give everyone a few weeks to get their cars ready and outta the shop :) it will be on a Sunday for sure shooting towards end of april to give an idea, also since we have people who will likely be driving a hot minute we will shoot for a middle point such as LoDo(south Denver) and make it an all day shenanigans/bbq or somethin, try to get as many first gens and then of course any other subies wanting to meet!

-I know, one person already, that may not have his car done by then. Its getting a lot of body work done to it.
