How much would you pay for a plug-and-play FCD?
Moderator: Moderators
I would jump all over this great part, but you may be making me a patch harness already. With that I can use my e-01's boost cut defence. Hopfully I will be able to have you build a patch harness soon.
$80 bucks is a steal for a plug and play anything on these cars, Someone needs to jump on this. If nothing else to help a board member out.

I'd be glad to make another one in the future, but it won't be soon; I'm too busy with school. I shouldn't even be writing this post!
If you can wait a few months, then I could probably supply the FCD you need. If you need it sooner, you might consider asking a friend who's good with electronics to build and install it for you (everything you need to know is at http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/fcd/). You could probably even convince a tech at a TV repair shop or something to do it for you.

the one vrg made used adapters from an ecu, so all you had to do was plug it right in. The link he just posted requires you to snip and solder. You can make a snip-n-solder for like 10 bucks or something. Or you can buy a generic one for a whole lot more(i dunno how much, someone else can give you a price) that you'll still have to snip-n-solder.

VRG3...I'm interested. Where do you live? I need an FCD, and was looking at getting a TurboXS one. My only concern is that I want to make sure it is WAY ligit! Ya know, is it 100% going to let me boost to 14-15 psi with NOT problems in my ecu? I'd hate to pay you to have it shipped here and have a problem. No offense, but you can see where one would have reservations right? Let me know cause I am very interested.

Legacy Central members get $5 off (or free U.S. shipping)
It's as plug-and-play as you're gonna get without cannibalizing an ECU and harness for connectors... no soldering required, the 5 wires snap right into place.

That's what my FCD kit does... snaps 5 wires onto the boost control assembly wires with scotch locks, then the unit mounts somewhere inside the cab or behind the strut tower under the hood. No ECU cannibalization required.
