SimplySubie Fender Braces!!

Post by AMP Auto Tech »

Image

What do they do?

They tie the lower a-pillar subframe to the upper front frame member to provide tiangulation of the junction between the two. The stock braces are made of stamped steel and flex like nobody's business. These braces are a one of a kind solid aluminum piece. There is no comparison.

What are they made of?

6061 T6 1/4" Aluminum plate

What are the benefits?

After installing these you can feel a drastic change for such a small part. Instead of having the chassis absorb the shock, let your shocks and springs do it! After all that's what they're there for.

Turn in is amazing, steering response is better, and the overall point and shoot method of driving the car is improved. I love this mod.

Tools Needed For Installation:

Flat head screwdriver
Needlenose pliers
Phillips screwdriver
10mm socket with extension
14mm socket with extension
3/8" drive rachet

Image

What do they fit?

ALL 90-94 Legacy Sedans and Wagons
ALL 02-07 WRX Sedans and Wagons
ALL 99+ RS Models
ALL 04-07 STi Models
SOME 93-01 Impreza L models will require two holes to be drilled and tapped.

How much are they?

$109 shipped comes with new bolts and washers, aswell as installation guide.

Available in 4 different colors:

Time Attack Black
Rallye Sport Red
Royal Sports Blue
Limited Edition Polished Aluminum

All sets will be sent out on February 1st. You can pre-order yours today. Please e-mail simplysubie@yahoo.com

Devan,

Rock on! And in colors no less!!

Can you post a side view to show thickness? Length/strength of bolts?

And what are the clearance issues installing these? Any way to install without removing fender? i.e from underneath removing fender linder??...

Thanks and good luck!!

Thanks Adam!

More pictures will be taken next week, to show different color options. I'll be sure to throw in a picture of thickness. Stock thickness is about 1/16th, these are 1/4". All sets come with Longer 10MM X 1.25 X 25 MM bolts. Screw right into stock holes.

The fenders will have to be removed for 90-94 Legacy's. Takes around 45 minutes per side taking your time. On newer models, the wheel linings can be dropped and swapped out that way.

Direct replacement! No modification needed.

They look good man. I like the width of the beam - very stiff design for the main loading of the brace, although I like the box design of the TIC to resist side loads (maybe not necessary... but I like it.)

I will say that you Do Not have to remove the fender on the 90-94 Legacy to install fender braces. At least I didn't when I installed my TIC fender braces....

here are the TIC's along side the flimsy stocker

Will these be around later? Can we buy some that have no finish work applied for a cheaper price?

Will we be able to get any that are unpainted down the road? I wonder because it'd be cool to weld an alum. bar down the center for some added, maybe not needed, support.

Just wondering because I shouldn't be spending money on these now, but they sure do look nice...
