First test drive it seems to pull much harder through 3000-4000 RPMs but not going to hit it much harder until I get some break in miles finally, gauges in, MBC installed. Hoping for Rob Tune soon now that I have most kinks figured out

Questions

I have these hoses unhooked because I either didn't know where to route them or have no place to route them with this intake and canister is broken on top. What have others done to remedy this? I can go get another canister and drill into the intake if I have too

These diagrams will do a better job of showing you the routing than I could.

The robtune requires you to use an aftermarket boost controller, and it doesn't use the purge control solenoid, so you can plug those as applicable.

I kept my charcoal canister hooked up to reduce fuel tank pressure.

Took it out on a drive and had some serious whiplash hesitation at half throttle. Took the ecu down to check wires and it died so found it was a wiring issue somewhere. Decided to do the Rob ECU case mod so the ECU would actually mount and not just jammed under the dash. Also found some wiring issues under the inter-cooler, when I would grab the cam sensor plug going into the main harness it would die so it got zip tied and fixed as best I could without making a new harness for it. Rerouted more wires and lines and hesitation seems to have gone away. I will take it out today for another run and hopefully get the gauges in. Just need to get MBC installed and hope I can get ahold of Rob but he seems to be MIA.

Wiring is the biggest issue with these older cars and ECU upgrades. Which is why I did a point to point check of every wire from the end device/sensor to the ECU. It showed my knock sensor issue and confirmed I wouldn't at least be chasing my tail with wiring issues.

Just tried to pass emissions and FAILED. First they wouldn't let me on the dyno due to my low profile tires so I had to swap with my 2.5RS to get them to let me on. Now I have failed for high HC and CO. We put a new cat in so that would pass but I get to chase more issues.

I'm surprised they made you do emissions on the 93, being 25 years old and all

Rob Tune ordered. Figured the 550s I am running are over fueling causing the high HC and CO.

I was thankful when mine was 25 years old and didn't have to do emissions any more here in Texas.

Finally got her home and found my wiring issue. Found one pin into ecu that was losing contact over bumps causing serious hesitations. Now it pulls through all gears cleanly. One issue is that when I do a hard pull and get near 3500 rpms it cuts out and feels like fuel cut or boost cut. I just installed my rob tune ecu so not sure what my issue is. Any help is appreciated

Took to get emissions after I installed the Rob Tune ECU hoping that the high HC and CO was due to the STI injectors dumping fuel with the stock ECU, but I still failed yet again. Could this be part of my issue at 3500 RPMs? I am going to try to change out the plugs and check the gap. I'll get my gauges installed too to get some readings. I really just want to legally drive this thing around. I have a way to get around emissions but I'd rather fix the issue than just go around the rules.

I'd definitely recommend you invested in wideband AFR gauge! Life line, heart beat monitor, just do it..

Did you fail HC & CO at idle or high idle, or both?

What is the limit? Are there any graphs/info that show engine RPM, as that's going to be most beneficial.

I changed the pictures to links since they were so big.

The HC emissions is unburnt fuel and the CO is incomplete combustion. Do you have a catalytic converter installed? If you do then these numbers are likely higher pre-catalytic converter.

More than likely you are running rich and that's causing the high emissions for both HC & CO. As to why you're running rich, I guess that's what we're trying to figure out.

Yes i have a Cat installed. My first thought was the injectors being yellow tops were grossly over fueling with my stock ecu but the rob tune didnt fix it. I know it was a guess anyway but worth a test

Are the yellow top injectors supposed to be matched up to the RobTune? Have the yellow tops been modified in any way?

Yellow tops are matched to the tune. They have not been flow tested. Bought on here.
