the parts car for awd and 5x100 86 xt6
Image

so what we have hear is to add the 4WD system into one of these cars, those are 20MM sway bars, above the sway bars is what holds the diff, about that is a mix and match of old and new to hold the STi 6mt, above that is a updated version of control arms to hold the 5x100 knuckle.

rear axle XT6 for the R180 3.900, there is a trick to these where i mix the outer with the new style inners to run a R180. or i could just stay light weight and put a R160 in it.

Is the engine compartment wide enough to fit the Dual Cam heads between the rails? or are you going to have to do some cutting?

It'll be cool as hell fur sure. It'll be interesting to see how the chassis handles all that torque. What are your plans for it?

 I almost passed out when I read this. As a former 86 GL-10 wagon owner I always dreamed about adding more hp. But almost 400 more hp than stock? Insane!!!

Also that is the cleanest and lowest mileage GL-10 I have ever seen. Very nice acquisition.

Any thoughts of adding a spoiler? With all that extra hp you could probably use some extra down force at high speeds.

What kind of transmission is in that thing?

Maybe he should use the excess power to drive a large sucker fan to hold it to the road like the Chaparral 2J, Brabham BT46B, or Devil Bunny.

Lol like a reverse hovercraft?

You could even wire up a toggle switch for it and label it Vacuum Mode.

Very much like that. Following cars won't like him much, but he'd be out of there so quick, he'd only smash a few windshields whenever he used it. The usual method is to use a second engine for the sucker fans. Chaparral used two used snowmobile engines. It's too bad the car was unreliable before they were banned as they would've destroyed everyone. Unlike wings which create drag along with downforce and only work at higher speeds, are sensitive to pitch, and lose efficiency when cornering, the negative pressure provided by the fans works consistently under all conditions. Watch out for loose manhole covers and road debris, though!

Hey Nico, cool build. Should finish out as an amazing ride. I'm rite behind you. Mine's an 88 GL 10 T. wagon. I did the XT 6 thing a few years ago, w/ 16" Rex whls, early Rex twin pot fronts, 240 SX rears w/ e-brakes. The 1.8 has had a lot of wotk done, runnin' a TDO 4, 3" wide mouth D.P., 2.5" back to a Flowmaster. I't a dual range, w/3:90s & a L.S. rear. Buttt. There's a 2.2 T sittin' on the shop floor, waiting for an O.H. I have the full loom, and am hopin' the use (afford) a Mega Squirt II or III. Sorry, I missed what tranny you runnin? Are you buying or buildin' the adpt. plate, etc.? I'll be following this thread with much interest. Thanks, S.

The nice thing about a lighter-weight car is that you need less brakes to stop it as well. Brakes will probably be overkill. Should fit in well with the rest of it.
